If you are an experienced computer user, then you probably are familiar with the Linux operating system and with the console that's included in it. This console allows you to perform various actions and commands and control every aspect of the operating system. The problem is that this console is not available on Windows, which is nowadays the most popular operating system in existence. To fix this, XShell was launched. This simple Windows program provides you with a console that resembles the one included in Linux.

The installation process of XShell can be completed with great ease, as a few clicks are enough to get the program installed. After installing and running the application, the user will be presented with a simple interface which resembles the one of the Command Prompt application that comes with Windows. Even the commands are pretty much the same. Beginners can type the word help inside the program interface, to be provided with the list of commands supported by XShell.

After doing so, the user will be able to easily perform various actions and commands. Each set of commands can be easily exported as an XLS file, which can be then imported into the program's interface. This is useful in case the program needs to be reinstalled.

Pros

It allows you to perform various commands and actions similar to the ones included in Linux. Besides that, the interface seems very simple to use. Furthermore, the program's commands can be exported to an XML file.

Cons

Full usage of the application requires some knowledge regarding networks. XShell allows you to perform various actions and tasks using command line and a very simple interface.
